For the serial adaptation of Bernhard Aichner's furious bestselling trilogy, Anna Maria Mühe must act as a mortician in her own right: First she puts her husband in the ground, then hopefully hunts down his killer.
As a mortician in an Austrian ski resort, Blum (Anna-Maria Mühe) is actually used to dealing with death. Until the accidental death of her husband, a policeman, threatens to throw her completely off course. Suddenly, the loving mother of two is confronted not only with her widowhood, but also with the possibility that the hit-and-run may have actually been a cold-blooded murder. Apparently, her dead husband was on the trail of a mystery that Blum is now trying to get to the bottom of as well. She takes on the role of a goddess of revenge, who is capable of more than her existence as a "woman of the dead" implies. However, she herself becomes the target of the killers: The huntress becomes the hunted and the second co-production of the ORF with Netflix after "Freud" becomes a breathlessly exciting thriller highlight.
