Berlin in the first Corona spring of 2020: The two sisters Leonie (14) and Lea (16) have been separated after the early death of their mother ten years earlier and are looking forward to the possibility of now living together with their grandmother Edda. Mixed in with the anticipation is disturbing news from Wuhan and the rest of the world. It's not long before the virus has reached Edda's household as well, and the sisters find themselves facing dramatic changes.
Inspired by actual events as they made the news around the world, series creator Maria von Heland has chosen a small dysfunctional family to tell here with great emotional punch and sensitivity about what the virus threat has done to different generations. The ten-part series was shot under lockdown conditions in Berlin in spring 2020. A coming-of-age story that couldn't be closer to the immediate present.
