"To be or not to be" off the coast of Istanbul: after killing the successful horse trader Ahmet, his brother Kadir Kesmeci makes everything look like an accident. Ahmet's daughter Hazar, however, knows about her uncle's viciousness and greed and devises a perfidious plan to avenge her father and bring the culprit to justice.
Perhaps Shakespeare's darkest drama set against a contemporary Turkish backdrop, his hero "Hamlet" as a courageous young woman torn between "being" and "non-being": with "Hamlet", Turkish director Kaan Müjdeci, who won the Grand Jury Prize in Venice for "Sivas" (2014), presents an imposing lyrical and in parts fantastic reinterpretation of the material. A visually impressive and powerful throw that should also put Turkey on the international series map at a stroke.
