WRITERS' ROOM:LAB - Round 2

SERIENCAMP as a cooperation partner again on board - German only

After a successful start last year, the Bavarian Film Center with the support of the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and the Competence Team Cultural and Creative Industries of the City of Munich, in cooperation with the University of Television and Film Munich and the Series Camp is again organizing a WRITERS' ROOM:LAB in 2017.

Numerous successful international series are created in "Writers' Rooms," but few writers in Germany have had the opportunity to work in such writing teams. There is a lack of knowledge about what happens there, how the material is developed, and what actually makes these concepts successful. In addition, there is a lack of opportunities to try things out and experience for themselves what further possibilities can arise from this way of working.

In the WRITERS' ROOM:LAB, participants are guided through the processes of a Writers' Room in modules that build on each other, and with the help of experienced mentors. We are very pleased that this year again Prof. Doron Wisotzky (among others author "Der Schlussmacher", "What a Man", Head of Screenplay Department at the HFF Munich), Timo Gößler (Filmuniversität Konrad Wolf Potsdam, author "Unschuldig"), Prof. Tac Romey (Phantomfilm, producer, director and writer, professor of serial writing at the HFF Munich), Prof. Egbert van Wyngaarden (Professor of Creative Writing and Screenwriting, Macromedia University of Applied Sciences Munich, Head of First Movie Program), Prof. Dr. Eva Stadler (Professor of Media Management at the Stuttgart Media University, freelance producer, including for "Add a Friend") among others to support this.

Applications for one of the 12 places are open until May 26, 2017 Screenwriters, students and alumni of relevant fields of study, as well as writers with professional ambitions, and expressly without their own material. A corresponding education, for example as a screenwriter is a prerequisite, series experience is an advantage. The Lab will be conducted in German. For participation, a contribution totaling € 350 for all three modules is due.

Dates:

The 3-week Lab will take place in Munich on the following dates, each full day: August 14 - 18, September 04 to 08 and October 21 to 25, 2017. Participation is only possible in all three consecutive modules together. A jury will decide by June 22, 2017 about the participation in the Lab.
